Please tell our readers something about yourself, your skills and
Books you've written.
Christophe:
I grew up and was in England, where I began my international travels while studying geography at the University of formation. After moving to California in 1980, I worked briefly in the adventure travel industry. I have a full time writer and professional photographer travel 1982
Although in my career, I specialized in earlyAdventure Travel, and Asia / Pacific over the past 15 years I have specialized in the Caribbean, with special attention Cuba and passion for my love affair with Cuba began with the publication of my Moon Handbooks Cuba and Moon Handbooks Havana .
Motorcycling through Castro's Cuba, a journal of literary journey, the two Lowell Thomas Award as Travel Book of the year and won the trip to North America: I have since written National Geographic Traveler: Cuba and Fidel Mi MotoJournalists Association Grand Prix. My most recent book is Cuba Classics: A Celebration of American cars vintage (Interlink Books, 2004), a lavishly illustrated picture book.
I have written many other books, including Lonely Planet guide to Jamaica and the Bahamas and Turk & Caicos and Jamaica passport illustrated guide. I have also written about Jamaica (and other Caribbean islands and international destinations) for dozens of major magazinesand travel sections of newspapers, even as a regular contributor skywriting (in-flight magazine of Air Jamaica) and Caribbean Travel & Life.
My experience of other large in relation to Costa Rica. My first guidebook was the Moon Handbook Costa Rica (Costa Rica as the first textbook published in 1992), now in its fifth edition, with nearly 100,000 copies sold. I have since written National Geographic Traveler Costa Rica and soon-to-be-published eyewitness travel guide to Costa Rica(Dorling Kindersley) and as a consultant for Intel, which recently opened a production plant in Costa Rica has acted.
I like public speaking and has been interviewed on numerous national television and radio programs. I am particularly honored to have addressed the National Press Club and the National Geographic Society (and as a member of Live from teachers), and was a member of the faculty of professors of Cunard Cruise Lines. In January and againI will be lectures on old cars in Cuba aboard Holland America Cruise Line's M / V Maasdam.

Where is Jamaica and could our readers something about them in the context of climate change activities can be an experience, torque etc.
Christophe:
Jamaica is located south of Cuba in the western Caribbean. It 'was for many centuries under British administrationSets and maintains close relations with the United Kingdom since independence in 1962. Jamaica is one of the most distinctive islands in the Caribbean, particularly as the birthplace of Rastafarianism, which permeates the culture and the music's most famous native of the island of Bob Marley.
Although framed by the coastal plains and sandy beaches, Jamaica is predominantly mountainous. To the east of the Blue Mountains (known for the famous coffee grown here) rise to 7402 meters. Despiteits relatively small size, the island offers several distinct climatic zones: the mountainous north, centered on the old port of shipment of bananas from Port Antonio, receives abundant rainfall and very high, while the relatively flat center south side, centered on Treasure Beach, lies in the rain shadow and the predominant vegetation is cactus and thorny shrubs.
Jamaica is very well developed in terms of assets. Visitors can choose from water skiing, diving, and sunset boatTravel by mountain biking, safari crocodile, and horseback riding.

Want to Jamaica a good choice for a romantic getaway or wedding and honeymoon? Why?
Christophe:
Jamaica is proud to be a perfect wedding and honeymoon. Many resorts specialize in this market. Some, such as sandals and SuperClubs (both known for their all-inclusive, couples only resorts) even offer free wedding packages. The all-inclusive concept was born inJamaica and no other destination has developed and successfully marketed the concept.
I love this all-inclusive resorts, which are operated at very high levels. However, my favorite romantic sunset at the other end of the spectrum, small hotel offers a combination of ultra-chic ambience and intimacy that is synonymous with romance. Jamaica also features, designed with local entrepreneur Chris Blackwell Iceland and inviting some of the group Outpostcool boutique hotel in the world. They draw notables from Naomi Campbell to Pierce Brosnan, but fortunately they are surprisingly affordable.

What is the best time to visit Jamaica in the context
time, cost, quantity and availability of flights from the United States, Canada
and Europe?
Christophe:
Weather wise, there are only two seasons: rainy (May to November) and dry (December-April). The best time to visit is during the dry season, when precipitation in aMinimum and most of the bathrooms on the island under the sun.
In the long rainy summer afternoon showers or heavy rains are typical island wide. Several days or even weeks during the summer of uninterrupted rain also possible, however, especially in the north, although this varies from year to year. Summer and fall are also hurricane season, even though the odds of a hurricane actually striking the island is relatively small.
All that being said, most research has been done by my advisors summerwhich has the advantage of lower prices and less people in the most popular tourist destinations such as Negril and Montego Bay. Service flight to Jamaica, which is served by scheduled and charter, depending on season two, even if every day all year from across Canada and the United States. The best airline deals out of season in summer.

And 'safe to travel to Jamaica?
Christophe:
The first time hitchhiking in Jamaica in 1978 andspent almost 30 years traveling the island without unnecessary problems.
Security issues should not deter visitors to the elections in Jamaica, except in moments of difficulty. However, the reputation of Jamaica as dangerous according to the sad reality for many.
The first is the prevalence of drugs and violence in Jamaican society, which is always associated to negotiate an ever-present power. Almost every visitor can expect approached to buy drugsAt some time during their holidays.
In places like Negril, drugs, constant prayer, remember, can sexual favors, or services similar in appearance (or actually) aggressive cheaters and is difficult to buy one of the reasons that the localities have been equally successful.

comes from the U.S. or Canada and is available to fly to Jamaica?
Christophe:
Jamaicadirectly served by the major hubs and cities across Canada and the United States. Serving the most flights to Montego Bay, often traveling to Kingston. There are great differences in air fares, especially between seasons, and if you fly midweek or weekend.
For scheduled non-stop weekend in high season rates start at about $ 500 Miami $ 650 New York, and $ 750 in Los Angeles. Low rate obtained if visitors choose flights that require planeChanges on the road.
Air Jamaica, the national airline, offers low-cost airline and is an exceptionally well run with excellent service. Charter operators offer flights from major urban centers at prices about 10-20% below regular flights. * Treasure Beach, with accommodation at Jake's Place, a romantic, quite unusual, informal yet elegant hotel, well managed, which embodies the spirit unpretentious. Want, is ideal for couples lounging time with very little but laze in a hammock between bouts of lovemaking.
* Negril is the place for beach-expert favorite, ideal for couples looking for a great beach, water sports, day, and a spicy yetNight unpretentious. There is a wide choice of hotels, including all-inclusive resort for couples only, but also some quality boutique hotels, including the caves of world-class contender for most romantic place in the world.
* Strawberry Hill in the Blue Mountains. Old World atmosphere of modern, combined with experience in this mountain retreat a mile above Kingston. The kitchen is fabulous. There is a huge garden and hiking nearby. Another chic boutiqueOption outpost of Iceland.
* Hedonism II or III (both run by SuperClubs) are almost always fully booked for couples to get their idea of a romantic play naked sexy antics in public, or even parts (literally) with other couples. Yes, many weddings here and often performed in the nude. No permission Puritans!
* Mandeville. This prosperity modest, simple, fast cities in the Central Highlands is located in a breathtaking landscape that recalls the valleys English is set and the bestappreciated by car. The city has many good restaurants, and there are lovely walks on the spot.
* Port Antonio. If you want lush, this is for you, as the area receives large amounts of rainfall, but not all the time. She is known for its fine hotels run the traditional standards, as the slightly off-Trident and Jamaica Palace. The following documents are required notarized proof of citizenship, certified copies of divorce or death is appropriate as regards the frontSpouses and parents' written consent to any part of the age of 18 years. French Canadians need a notarized translated copy of all documents and a copy of the original French.

A visit to Jamaica to be carefully planned to ensure you always get what you do. More than any other destination I know, visitors love it or hate it reaction, most of what appears to be related to their special treatment of the local population.
